WFA participates in meeting of LATAM self-regulators

WFA participated in the annual meeting on 14-16 September of advertising self-regulatory organisations in Latin America. This was the 5th meeting of the “CONARED” hosted by CONARP Argentina.

Swiss to collaborate with the University of Basel

ASA (Switzerland) is collaborating with the Faculty of Marketing at the University of Basle in order to offer ASA members expertise in a variety of media and marketing fields, including audits for marketing and communications efficiency, measurement of customer experience, social media monitoring and web-marketing research.

APAC associations to meet in Singapore

On October 5-7, WFA will hold its Asia-Pacific Regional meetings in Singapore. Following the APAC Sourcing Meeting on Oct 5th for regional marketing procurement and sourcing specialists and the APAC Media and Marketing Network on October 6th for regional client-side marketers, the APAC Regional Network for national advertiser associations will be held on October 7th.

eMarketer: "Facebook to double worldwide ad revenues to US$3.8 billion this year"

Worldwide ad revenues for Facebook will rise 104% this year to $3.8 billion, eMarketer estimates. As the social network doubles its advertising intake, it is also diversifying its revenue streams and adding dollars through other means, like Credits.

WFA welcomes new global marketing code

WFA has welcomed the International Chamber of Commerce's new global marketing code. The code sets both new minimum requirements for marketers and a new reference point for advertising standards globally.

UNICEF UK calls on the Government to ban advertising during children's programmes

On 14 September, UNICEF UK called on the UK Government to follow Sweden's example and ban advertisements being shown before, during or after programmes aimed at under-12s.
