New Swedish self-regulatory organisation to launch in 2009

In view of commitments made at European level and in response to certain local legislative proposals and other political initiatives, the Association of Swedish Advertisers will set up a new Swedish Self-Regulatory Organisation, based on a levy system.

The organisation is expected to be fully operational from January 2009, with the levy system taking effect as of Q4 2008.

The move by the Swedish Advertiser Association receives WFA's support and will help to strengthen self-regulation in the field of marketing communications by means of overall business support, robust funding and effective mechanisms.
