Association of Swiss Advertisers announces new President
Date: 28/04/2009
After 9 years in office, Gérard Stalder has handed over his presidency of the Association of Swiss Advertisers (SWA) to Board Member Roger Harlacher (pictured) at this year's Annual General Meeting.
Stalder's successful term of office included, amongst other things, the emergence of a significant new Swiss Radio and Television law and the introduction of a new rate system for print media.
Roger Harlacher, as a member of the Board of Directors of the food manufacturing company ‘Zweifel', has a wealth of experience managing issues around both brand management and increased calls for advertising restrictions and bans.
In his opening speech at the Annual General Meeting, he identified the following as being the main objectives of the ASA: the maintenance of advertising freedom, the necessity for absolute transparency in media invoicing, the reduction of Swiss advertising costs when compared to European equivalents and the spreading of expertise and know-how.
WFA looks forward to working with Roger on addressing his priorities for ASA and continuing its longstanding relationship with the rest of the team at the Swiss Advertisers Association.
