Advertisers Business Group (GCC Advertiser Association) sets out strategic priorities at General Assembly

Date: 31/03/2009

The new-look Advertisers Business Group (ABG), formerly the GCC Advertiser Association, recently held a General Assembly Meeting and reception at the Dubai World Trade Centre Club to present ABG's strategic priorities to the advertising and marketing community.

Luis Hakim, VP Royal Philips Electronics and CEO Philips Electronics Middle East and ABG Chairman, commented at the event: "No doubt that world's best practice in media performance measurement will remain a priority.  We all know that credibility lies within transparency, so as a group, we insist on seeing a return on our media investment.  Hence, projects such as People Meters for TV and Circulation Audit for print will remain ABG's priorities, but as of today, that will be alongside the new projects identified."

New initiatives from ABG will focus on regulatory and public affairs activities to ensure that local advertiser interests are represented with a single voice within the region. It is dedicated to bringing international standards and best practices to the local market and aims to foster a fair and accountable marketplace in the Middle East.

ABG has been an active member of WFA since 2005, operating out of Dubai. For more information, contact Debbie Cook: [email protected]
