WFA holds 3rd Annual Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting in Beijing

On November 14, 2007 WFA held its 3rd Annual Asia Pacific Regional Meeting in Beijing. The meeting assembled WFA's national associations in the Asia/Pacific region (including Japan, China, Australia, Malaysia) as well key corporates which have a stake in local markets: Nokia, Kellogg, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Mars and Ferrero (amongst others).
The meeting agenda focused on government restrictions on advertising (including food advertising), the role of effective self-regulation, promoting the role and value of advertising, media ownership concentration and methods to establish reliable media measuremement systems.
Key take-outs from the discussions focused on a number of areas which require further industry collaboration in order to optimise marketer's strategies in this region:
- Transparency in the marketplace
- Revisions to Ad laws
- Data accuracy on measurement
