WPP/GroupM tops RECMA 2008 global media billings report

RECMA, the research company that publishes intelligence on the worldwide media agency industry, has released overall billings information for 2008 (projected).
The short report (available to WFA members below) covers 48 countries and features analysis of the six major groups performance over the past 12 months, and also ranks the 14 major media networks by billings.
The network groups in order of billings:
1. WPP / GroupM: 82,912 US $ bn
2. Publicis / VivaKi: 58,965 US $ bn
3. Omnicom / OMG: 40,399 US $ bn
4. Aegis / Aegis Media: 33,308 US $ bn
5. Interpublic / Mediabrands: 31,877 US $ bn
6. Havas / Havas Media: 16,805 US $ bn
