WFA holds APAC meeting in Kuala Lumpur

WFA's 2008 Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur and brought together representatives from WFA's National Advertiser Associations in the region, as well as corporate members from companies with activities in the APAC region.

Delegates represented the following major markets: Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

The meeting discussed a number of key issues for regional operatives over 5 sessions, focusing on:

- The value of advertising: How can local industry better champion the benefits of advertising at a time when politicians are increasingly looking to regulate marketing communications?

- Food advertising and obesity: Global, regional and national developments and strategic insights for local industry

- Audience measurement and media cost control: The role of media auditors & update on the WFA Blueprint for consumer centric holistic measurement.
