EASA publishes guide to advertising self-regulation

Date: 08/04/2010

The European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) will publish its 6th "Blue Book" - the seminal guide on advertising self-regulation. It has been designed with greater emphasis on the needs and interests of advertising practitioners, as well as providing a valuable information source for policy makers, advisers, researchers and academics.

For marketers it offers practical guidance, tips and information on how advertising is regulated in various countries around the world to help ensure advertising is compliant with national codes. For policy makers or researchers, this is an invaluable tool explaining the theory and practice of advertising self-regulation, at both national and international level, including how individual self-regulatory systems work.

The Blue Book 6 comes out on 15 April. WFA members can pre-order a copy from EASA directly.

Contents:

- Detailed information on advertising self-regulatory systems in Europe and beyond, including information on services provided as well as national advertising codes and legislation
- A checklist with practical advice on how to ensure that advertisements are compliant with the advertising codes
- Advice about the kind of evidence needed to support advertising claims
- Information on the European Copy Advice/Pre-Clearance Facility, an online ‘one-stop shop' for copy advice on advertising campaigns in preparation.
