World Federation of Advertisers launches Global Marketer Week 2014

Annual event comes to Sydney in partnership with Association of Australian Advertisers (AANA)
March 24th 2014: The World Federation of Advertisers has announced the full programme of events for Global Marketer Week 2014 which starts today in Sydney.
The events will bring together marketers from some of the world's biggest brands as well as national advertiser representatives from around the world, in total representing some 90% of total global marketing spend.
In addition to the flagship Global Marketer Conference on Wednesday March 26, the week will feature a number of other events including:

The events will bring together marketers from some of the world's biggest brands as well as national advertiser representatives from around the world, in total representing some 90% of total global marketing spend.
In addition to the flagship Global Marketer Conference on Wednesday March 26, the week will feature a number of other events including:
- Mon 24: A session on International Best Practices in Advertising Standards against a backdrop of APEC's attempts to promote coherent advertising standards across the region as a means of removing barriers to trade between APEC markets.
- Tues 25: A global advocacy briefing looking at challenges that brand owners are facing in light of policy discussions around lifestyle-related challenges, including overweight, obesity and alcohol-related harm.
- Tues 25: AANA will announce the winners of the Great Australian Marketing Awards at a cocktail party on Tuesday to celebrate the arrival of the Global Marketer Week in Australia. Speakers include David Droga.
- Thurs 27: Contagious will team up with Google to highlight the most important topics at the intersection of communications, technology and culture, including standout global executions in subject areas including living data, frictionless commerce platforms and augmented content.
- Thurs 27: Project Reconnect with We Are Social: Social media agency, We Are Social, will unveil its latest research on the most inspiring brand stories today. Unilever's Senior Vice-President of Marketing, Marc Mathieu, will present what he thinks all these campaigns have in common before a panel session discusses what this means for marketing in the digital age, including Martin Riley, CMO Pernod Ricard, Joao Ciaco, Head of Brands Communications and Marketing at Fiat Latin America and Michelle Froah, APAC Senior Marketing Director, Kimberley Clark.
- Thurs 27: WFA will unveil the results of its Global Brand Purpose Research on marketers' views on how best to put purpose into marketing.
