The World Federation of Advertisers announces the recruitment of two new staff members: Adam Gagen from the UK joins the WFA as Director of Legal & Public Affairs and Martin Mycielski from Poland joins as Database Manager.
Adam Gagen takes on the role of Director of Legal & Public Affairs.
Before joining the WFA, Adam has been managing for five years Pernod Ricard's Public Affairs agenda (e.g. regulatory affairs, alcohol policy, CSR) in Asia, being based out of Hong Kong. His experience of daily engaging Ministries of Commerce, Heath and Trade across Asia (reaching from India to Japan and Mongolia through Indonesia) while also leveraging stakeholders back in producer countries (such as USTR, DFAT and the European Commission) will provide a solid foundation to lead the policy engagement of WFA going forward.
Prior to joining Pernod Ricard, Adam worked at the European Commission in Taipei and Brussels on trade and political relations between the EU and China/Taiwan.
Adam is excited to use his expertise in engaging governments on regulatory challenges, particularly on sensitive products and services, to drive forward the policy agenda of WFA's members globally.
After education in the UK and US, he enjoyed diverse international experiences living in Brussels, Shanghai, Taipei, Beijing and Hong Kong. He has now relocated back to Europe with his partner and will be working from both the UK, where he now lives, and Brussels.
Adam has swam across the Hong Kong harbor and ran the Pyongyang marathon and is looking forward to undertaking similar new challenges back in Europe.
He can be contacted at [email protected].
Martin Mycielski joined the WFA as Database Manager, a new role created within the WFA.
He brings with him over seven years of working experience in diverse roles. Martin started his career in politics, ran for Parliament twice, coordinated region-wide campaigns and organised high-profile events. He managed an IT company for a year before moving to Brussels, where he worked for the European Parliament as Head of Parliamentary Offices, co-organised the Polish EU Presidency and managed REACH consortia at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.
Martin holds a joint Master's Degree in Diplomatic and Business Protocol, Foreign Relations and Event Organisation from universities in Madrid and Brussels, having previously studied Iberian Culture and Management in Warsaw.
You can reach him out at [email protected].
