The World Federation of Advertisers and the Australian Association of National Advertisers have unveiled the first speaker names for the 2014 Global Marketer Conference.

On the podium in Sydney will be Sir John Hegarty, Marc Mathieu and James Thompson, with more names to be confirmed in November.

Sir John is the inspirational co-founder of Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) where he was responsible for ground breaking campaigns such as the Levi's 'Launderette' advertisement and introduced the world to the phrase 'Vorsprung Durch Technik' for Audi.

Today BBH employs over 1,000 people in offices in London, New York, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Mumbai and Los Angeles. Its client list includes Diageo, Unilever, Google and British Airways.

Marc Mathieu is Senior Vice President at Unilever and leads development of the global marketing strategy, Crafting Brands for Life, which will support the company's sustainable growth ambition of doubling the size of its business whist reducing its environmental impact.

James Thompson is Global Managing Director of Diageo Reserve, which includes luxury brands such as Johnnie Walker Blue and Tanqueray No. Ten. He has worked for Diageo since 1994 in a range of roles including as Chief Marketing Officer APAC for Diageo Reserve Brands, President Guinness Canada and Senior Vice President Priority Brands, Diageo North America.

The Global Marketer Conference is the centrepiece of Global Marketer Week, with a series of events designed to inform, educate and inspire marketers from Australia, Asia and the rest of the world.

Other activities include a session hosted by Google and led by Contagious on the most engaging and innovative strategies over the past year in the digital space.

“The Global Marketer Week 2013 in Brussels was a great celebration of the WFA's 60th anniversary. With plans already taking shape for Sydney 2014, it feels like we're raising the bar yet again with what is going to be an exceptional line-up of global marketing leaders” said Stephan Loerke, Managing Director of the World Federation of Advertisers.
