291 agencies from 30 networks, representing 24 countries entered the race for this year's prestigious Golden Drum Awards. In total, they submitted 1,220 entries to the 21st edition of the festival, which took place between 7th and 10th October in Portoroz, Slovenia. 393 entries were submitted by independent agencies, making the race for the best independent agency, the Tartini Award, one of the most exciting yet.
“Time and again the Golden Drum Festival proves to be the event that offers delegates an inspiring, creative and friendly atmosphere. No doubt, Golden Drum is the place where creativity really counts and is experienced and celebrated at its very best,” said Barbara Krajnc, Executive Director of the Golden Drum Festival and Director General of the Slovenian Association of Advertisers.
A total of 63 Silver Drums, 31 Golden Drums and 16 Golden Drum Grand Prix Awards as well as one Good Cause Grand Prix Award were presented to the best works in this year's competition.
McCann Erickson was awarded with the Golden Net Award for the most successful agency network, while the agency Voskhod was awarded with the Golden Rose Award for best agency and the Tartini Award for best independent agency.
The most recognised brand owner at the Golden Drum Festival, Vodafone, received the Golden Drum Brand Grand Prix Award, while the new Good Cause Brand Grand Prix Award went to agency Cheil Poland for Very good manners, an ingenious campaign developed for the Red Cross Poland.
