Philippines announce new President

Margot Torres, has been appointed as the new President of the Philippines Association of National Advertisers (PANA) for 2012. She takes over from John Rojo, Vice President, Corporate Brand and Communications at BayanTel, a Philippine Communications firm.

Margot is currently the VP for Marketing and Communications at Golden Arches Dev't Corp. (McDonald's Philippines) and has been handling McDonald's marketing, PR & communications and customer service in Philippines for the past 8 years. Before that, Margot worked for major advertisers across several industries such as telecoms, consumer goods and pharmaceutical OTC.

Margot was chair of the 21st Philippine Advertising Congress in 2009, which brought together over 10,000 attendees, a PANA Vice-President in 2008-2009 and former PANA President in 2010. She was also Ad Standards Council Treasurer in 2009 and President in 2010, as well as Director of the Advertising Board of the Philippines from 2008-2010.

In 2010, Margot received the Brand Ambassador Award from APMEA Women's Leadership Network and was awarded the prestigious Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Management the same year. In 2011, Margot was awarded as the first Chief Marketing Officer of the Year by the Tambuli Awards.
