Jon Woods, General Manager of Coca-Cola UK and Ireland, has been appointed by ISBA to succeed Mark Hunter, CEO of Molson Coors, who steps down after two years in the President's role.

“Advertisers want to do more to work in partnership with Government on social issues,” says new ISBA President, Jon Woods, on his first day in the job.

Following the Government's recent decision to axe the COI, he said: “I am delighted to be taking over as President of ISBA at an extremely busy time. The Coalition has seen a number of important developments, not least relating to the Government's role as advertiser. Spending cuts, followed by the Review of Government Direct Communications, has resulted in the decision to abolish the COI. While ISBA has made clear that advertisers cannot be expected to fill the funding gap, we are keen to explore ways of working in partnership on key social issues. This applies equally to the Department of Health Responsibility Deal initiative launched in early 2011, where ISBA and a number of advertisers have already signed up to specific pledges under the Deal.”
