The Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) has joined the WFA earlier this month, bringing the total number of national associations in WFA's network to 56 across 61 countries. Kenya will be the fourth national advertiser association to join from Africa, alongside South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco.

“We welcome the Marketing Society of Kenya into the WFA family with open arms and greatly look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration,” said Stephan Loerke, WFA Managing Director.

“We are more than delighted to be part of the WFA and we look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership that will help us grow and achieve our objectives,” said Waithera Ng'ang'a, the CEO of MSK.

Considered the premiere marketing association in East Africa, MSK is one of the oldest professional associations in Kenya. The Marketing Society was established in 1968 and has become the national umbrella body for all marketers in Kenya.

MSK's mandate is to empower and contribute to the self-regulation of the marketing industry, educate and train professionals, corporates and entrepreneurs, provide marketing and business mentorship and arbitration through the Advertising Standards Body of Kenya.

The association also looks to create strong and sustainable partnerships with the private and public sector to leverage synergies and deliver mutually beneficial sustainable marketing initiatives and projects that support the marketing profession, foster entrepreneurship, youth and professional initiatives. Such initiatives include MSK's National Youth Council, a programme that connects youth with the professional world, providing mentorship and career growth opportunities.

The MSK Secretariat is led by Waithera Ng'ang'a, the current CEO. A marketing professional, Waithera sits on the Advertising Standards Committee and the Advertising Standards Board, which regulates and arbitrates all advertising and marketing industry disputes in the local market.

She is also a member of the steering Committee of East Africa Professional Services, one of the platforms of the East African Community, a member of the Advisory Council of the Africa Brand Summit, and trustee and technical committee member of KARF, the Kenya Audience Research Foundation.
