On 7th November 2013, the Dutch Advertiser Association (BVA) is to hold its 4th annual “24 uur van de reclame” (24 Hour of Advertising) festival in partnership with the Dutch Association of Advertising Agencies (VEA). The theme of the 2013 festival is “The Next Level” - how to encourage creativity in an effective way whilst keeping up with the increasing developments in technology. As seen in the promotional video released by the BVA and VEA, participants are encouraged to listen to Steve Jobs' advice to "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish".
The 24 Hours of Advertising is for professionals in the communications industry to showcase their award-winning work, be inspired by their peers and to grow their network. Last year, more than 2,500 people – from students to CEOs, from small business to multinational – attended the festival, and the keynote speech was delivered by former US President Bill Clinton.
Highlights of this year's event include the annual Effie Awards, and the Next Level Talks, featuring Daan Roosegaarde (Studio Roosegaarde) and Microsoft's Andy Hart. The Effie Awards will showcase the most effective advertising campaigns of 2013 and will present campaigns with a Bronze, Silver or Golden Effie. Moreover, students from universities all around the Netherlands are invited to attend the Young Talent Class lectures to find out more about why they should come work in advertising. The Classes will see professionals from the fields of marketing communications showing students what the business is all about.
The day will end with a party themed “So Thirsty”. For more information, please visit the festival website.
