China Association meets WFA Deputy-President on advertising self-regulation

China Association of National Advertisers (CANA) met on 17th July in Beijing with WFA Deputy-President and Vice-President for Public Affairs at Mars Inc., Matthias Berninger, to agree on steps which would further promote advertising industry self-regulation in China.
Part of the meeting focused on CANA's preparations for hosting an APEC dialogue on best practice in advertising standards in Beijing on 8th and 9th August. The dialogue will bring together industry and government representatives of the 21 APEC economies with a view to fostering a better understanding of effective advertising standards. APEC's goals are to increase regulatory convergence in order to reduce trade barriers between APEC countries.
The meeting was attended by CANA President, Hou Yunchun, Director of Development Department, Li Wenjie, and by Director of International Affairs, Li Xiao.
