Core Responsibilities

The LEGO Group is on an ambitious journey to make its products and operations more sustainable. It will also step-up efforts to bring learning through play to children in need and build an inclusive environment for all. The company knows it can’t do it alone, so is joining forces with children & parents, NGOs, governments, partner organisations and employees. To help make it happen we are looking for an outstanding sustainability communication & engagement leader.

The exciting and wide-ranging role will cover the following areas


COMMUNICATION & ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY Build and efficiently implement a compelling and impactful multi-year engagement strategy to support the LEGO Group’s sustainability and social responsibility ambitions.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT Engage a broad network of external and internal partners across multiple channels, platforms and activities to advance the company’s reputation. Design and deliver engagement activities that reflect the LEGO brand values – creative and fun with lasting impact – and fully leverage owned, earned and paid channels.
ISSUES MANAGEMENT Proactively and effectively track, handle and respond to sustainability-related issues that have the potential to impact the LEGO Group’s reputation.
REPORTING Manage the LEGO Group’s sustainability reporting to ensure it is best in class, relevant and impactful.
AGENCY MANAGEMENT Lead a network of agencies, including a team from the LEGO Group’s internal agency, to deliver campaigns & engagement activities that inspire, entertain and get people to think and act.
INSPIRING PEOPLE LEADER, WITH STRONG BIAS TO ACTION Lead a team of passionate sustainability communication specialists.
IMPACT Use world-leading data and analytics to track and evolve communication and engagement activity to ensure the greatest impact amongst selected collaborators.

The Senior Director, Sustainability Engagement will report to the Vice President, Corporate Brand Communications. The role is part of the Corporate Affairs team, which comprises Corporate Communication, Environmental Responsibility, Social Responsibility and Government Affairs. The successful SD must collaborate with all Corporate Affairs disciplines in order to deliver a successful engagement programme.

Do you have what it takes?

Consistent track record in sustainability / ESG / social responsibility communications and engagement, preferably in a global role. Minimum 10+ years.

Truly outstanding stakeholder leadership skills.

Exceptional communicator, who can personally influence and has a deep understanding how to engage partners through different communication channels and activities.

Act as an effective, caring leader AND committed implementer.

Proactive “Can do” attitude and a fantastic teammate.
