On 29 January 2014, four new members, Burger King, FrieslandCampina, McDonald's and the Hungarian confectionery manufacturer Bonbonetti, joined the local food marketing pledge, a commitment to only advertise “better-for-you” products to children under 12 years. They join eight other members of the Hungarian Branded Goods Association (BGA), Coca-Cola, Danone, Ferrero, Intersnack, Kraft Foods, Mars, Nestlé, and Unilever who publicly signed the local version of the EU pledge in 2012.

The signing event was organized by WFA's local member in Hungary (BGA) and featured a keynote speech from Monika Karas, the new President of the National Media and Telecom Authorities. She referred to the EU Pledge as an excellent industry role model, a true sign of responsible behavior translating into proper action.
